Written Student Learning Plan (WSLP): The learning of each 9 Mile Family Partnership student is guided by a year-long plan, written collaboratively between the parent, student, and consultant. This plan identifies learning goals and pacing for the year based on grade level standards and units of study chosen by the families.

Monthly Student Progress Reports: A monthly report is collaboratively completed for each child by the parent and the consultant. These reports are designed to both record progress data and provide parents and learners feedback from the consultant. This monthly meeting creates space for questions to be answered, materials to be provided, and individual needs to be discussed and addressed for each of our families.

Direct Weekly Student/Certified Teacher Contact: Each student participates in classes and clubs on their weekly class day(s), receiving instruction and oversight from certified teachers within the program. In the case of an absence, contact between the student and a certified teacher must occur electronically or by phone during the school week in which the child is absent.

Assessments: Families assess their children regularly as part of the monthly progress reports. Additionally, students participate in district and state assessments at various times throughout the school year.

The 9 Mile Family Partnership Program schedules each student for the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Assessment in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. This is a fairly short assessment in both Math and Language Arts that provides data focused on academic growth over time.

The 9 Mile Family Parent Partnership also administrates the Washington State standardized test (SBAC) yearly in Math and Language Arts, and in grades 5 and 8 in Science.

Citizenship: The 9 Mile Family Partnership works to foster a safe and collaborative community. We appreciate and celebrate behavior that supports learning, promotes strong character, and encourages positive relationships among all members.
